Project Overview

HAIDARA Holding Foundation (HHF) has assumed responsibility for developing and implementing a strategic HUMANITARIAN, SOCIAL, SERVICES and INFRASTRUCTURE development plan and program for Guinea. To many outside observers, the HHF program would seem too robust and monumental. However, HHF has worked very hard to assemble international partners and organizations to assist with planning and implementation of its vision. The vision is to lead by example! The goal is to assist Guinea in their pursuit of financial independence and sustainability in all economic and social service sectors.

As a Country, Guinea can realize its “Vision” in sustainable health care, jobs, infrastructure development and technology transfers with assistance from its strategic partners.

HHF has and will continue to develop a 1-5 year and 5-10 year and 10-20 year Vision Program which; will include both tactical and strategic projects to enhance Guinea’s population. This “Vision” has been brought about by the unfortunate and untimely Ebola crisis of a few years ago. The Ebola crisis has caused HHF to understand the necessity for readiness and understanding the need for better access to hospital, clinics, healthcare and everyday requirements.

Those daily requirements include but are not limited to:

  • General health care access, fully provisioned healthcare facilities (regional hospitals and local clinics), medical research and development alliances.

  • Sustainable and “green” technologies (solar, wind and hydro) for electricity and water.

  • Agriculture and food security, to include; food manufacturing plants and facilities.

  • Infrastructure development, to include; roads, rail and local modes of access.

  • Partnering and collaborating with world-class organizations to develop technology transfer job mentoring for on-going facilitation of Guinea’s economy.

  • Construction of low-cost houses, school for poor people and orphanages.

Guinea Medical & Infrastructure Development Project

HAIDARA Holding Foundation (HHF) is a worldwide not-for-profit organization providing 21st Century humanitarian, infrastructure and economic development solutions, to targeted developing and crises-stricken situations. The goal of HHF is to provide higher end and sustainable social, economic development and growth opportunities to emerging sectors. A primary HHF objective is to employ and deploy social and technology solutions to enhance sustainability, within affected locations.

HHF has assembled an international cadre of small, medium, large and businesses to act as strategic partners, to assist within the targeted development areas. These world-class partners have offered their commitment through written Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Public/Private Partnership agreements. Each participant, at a minimum, has agreed to mentor, partner and promote technology and information transfer, within their sphere of influence.

As an organization, the HHF is committed to long term jobs creation and opportunities, women empowerment, health systems/facilities, accessible education, business entrepreneurships and partnerships, management training, technical skills training and social awareness training. To deliver its services, in a planned and orderly way, HHF utilizes infrastructure development and business partnering programs for sustainable delivery of community specific needs and services.

“The goal of HHF is to provide higher end and sustainable social, economic development and growth opportunities to emerging sectors.”

Premise and Issues

West Africa, especially Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, have endured several catastrophic events, in the past 3-15 years. These events include the Ebola and the post-Ebola economic impact. Ebola caused visitors and investors to flee affected countries and flee neighboring areas as well. While significant efforts from world medical and health organization have contained the virus, there is still a need to provide focused additional assistance and attention to the “post-Ebola” issues, in all affected areas.

Additional assistance can take the form of medical research and development or the construction of clinics, hospitals, houses and access roads to healthcare facilities. Just as important, are the intangibles, which are less obvious assistance like:

  • access to clean water,

  • access to low cost electricity,

  • access to low cost houses,

  • food security/availability,

  • jobs,

  • education, and

  • women empowerment in social and society settings.

The long-term effect of gaining access to the “intangibles” is a key ingredient to a robust and sustainable society.

The ability to eradicate any virus, epidemic or illness like Ebola, the Measles or Malaria is a start. The ability to maintain or sustain a long term health and human service environment is the goal. All or as many aspects of a comprehensive plan must be addressed, to achieve program success. The “Vision” is a long-term program which, will impact the Guinea population and West Africa, in general. The need for a sustainable source of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is critical to the success of the HHF “Vision”. To that end, HHF is seeking funding, at a large and unprecedented level. The proposed HHF “Vision” will create a West African program model for Guinea and its neighbors.

Situation

The HAIDARA Holding Foundation (HHF) and its partners are guided by a sincere effort to become extraordinary international citizens. HHF’s outreach, to achieve international citizenship, is dedicated to opening and sustaining relations; with and toward Africans, across the diaspora. The key aspect of the plan is to insert “sustainability” into our offerings and approach. We want to provide a solution to Guinea and then teach Guineans how to sustain and increase the solution.

Because of HHF’s efforts, and through our partnerships, our effective goal is to re-connect structurally, commercially, culturally, and sustainably, with Africa. Africans are still fighting the negativism of viral health issues, economic wars (financial insecurity/debt), and other problems. The HHF is seeking to act cooperatively and collectively as a dedicated leader and liaison, to move Guinea and the Continent forward, with a shared “Vision” to re-position Africa.

Africa continues to garner worldwide attraction because of its growth, its potential and its wealth of natural and human resources. Guinea has a young population, striving to enter the middle class, through work and education. Guinea, has unimaginable “world class” extractable natural resources: a land mass and agri-business opportunities beyond other locations. However, these benefits must be harnessed to provide sustainable growth and a secured population. Today, there are a few jobs and commerce opportunities, in Africa. This fact, along with a deficient health and human services sector perpetuates poverty and many other unintended consequences.

The result has been deep poverty, deficient social services (health and education, etc.), reduced infrastructure development and the absence of food and water security. More importantly, the ability to work and earn living wages continues to be a problem. The HHF’s plan is to assist in as many sectors, as possible, to reduce poverty and increase stability, and create a sustained economy. The HHF consortium intends to be a significant contributor to the well-being of Guinea, through its Foreign Direct Investment(s) (FDI), in the highlighted social services and economic sectors.

Along with proposed FDI, the HHF’s specific focus is to include top tier American businesses, universities and various government entities, to develop and execute sound commercial and social programs. The African general population will benefit from high quality local job business opportunities, resulting from a planned commerce integration.

“The key aspect of the plan is to insert “sustainability” into our offerings and approach. We want to provide a solution to Guinea and then teach Guineans how to sustain and increase the solution.”

Leadership, Structure and Vision

The HAIDARA Holding Foundation is an established organization, with a stated goal to develop a robust presence in and throughout the African diaspora. The HHF has targeted the Ebola affected countries of Guinea Conakry, Guinea Bissau, Liberia and Sierra Leone, West Africa, to rollout health and human services as well as other social and infrastructure development initiatives, but will start and implement in Guinea Conakry.

The Foundation will also work closely with government, educational and business entities to maximize our proposed solutions and provide sustained funding and set program and project priorities. The executive management team will work closely with selected Guinea, leadership and selected businesses to develop and grow partnering opportunities, as well as implementation of our Guinea strategic plan. The plan will start in Guinea and then spread abroad.

HHF and its partners is an assembly of multi-disciplined and seasoned business and government professionals. The organization has a developed strategy and will work with strategic partners to refine program initiation and rollout define logistics, and enhance financial metrics. The HHF management team is responsible for implementation of the plan, growth of international relationship building, structuring agreements, locating private and institutional funding and organizational operations

Why Guinea, Conakry

In the 1958 to 1959 time frame, the Guinea government chose to sever ties with the French colonial government. Guinea was and is the only former French colony to completely move away from the French government known as the French Community. In doing so, the new government in Guinea became an autonomous entity backing their own currency and setting their own policies, as a sovereign government. The current Conde government is continuing to re-tool government policies and practices.

Since 2010, Guinea under the Presidency of Alpha Conde is operating on the premise where the country will establish base line reforms and growth in strategic areas. Those strategic sectors and areas are: mining, power/electricity within major cities, access to clean water, jobs, infrastructure development (roads, rail, airports, etc.), agriculture (farming, poultry, fishing and processing of products) and financial and administrative systems linked to the Central Bank. Alpha Conde’s first term as President ended in 2015 and he has since won re-election and continues the Country’s mandate. Approximately two years of the Ebola virus epidemic has put Guinea and the Conde administration in a recovery mode.

Solution

The HAIDARA Holding Foundation is an internationally based organization, specializing in sustainable solutions and best social and business practices through our actions and services.  The Foundation’s solutions are focused toward building a better Guinea.  The purpose of our efforts and subsequent work efforts are to bring specific international entities together to provide progressive, high end alternatives, for targeted Guinea markets.

HHF’s goal is to fund and develop local Guinea individuals and companies capable of and willing to provide in-country infrastructure development efforts, in support of our country to country consortium.  The goal is to implement Guinea oriented medical, social and economic engines, utilizing technologies, funding and services; provided by the HHF and its partners.  The Foundation’s plan has been formulated to connect African requirements and needs, with international medical, business and government partners to provide sustainable solutions.

In addition to the obvious health, infrastructure development and commercial endeavors, HHF will develop a “Women in Business Program”, utilizing micro-loan programs and will work with power Africa initiatives to provide electricity to lower income and struggling families as well as local/small businesses.  As the HHF and its partners become more integrated, within each local environment, it will institute locally oriented gender specific and educational programs.

Build facilities for health and human services to address community needs

Build private and public facilities for immediate and long-term Health and Human Services (HHS) to address community needs.

  • Create a sustainable funding source for community housing, schools, hospitals.

  • Create infrastructure development programs (roads, power/electricity programs, etc.)

  • Develop partnering and training programs to transfer technologies and job skills to local businesses and sectors.

  • Create sustainable business to business mentoring programs and partnerships with HHF partners.

  • Create secure access within the banking sector.

Develop financial methodologies to enable fiscal independence

Develop repeatable and strong country wide financial methodologies to enable and gain fiscal independence for Guinea, while using managed financial programs sanctioned by international financial organizations.

  • Create a collateral base for international managed programs.

  • Create a reserve fund for additional infrastructure programs.

Conclusion

The challenge in front of us is to continue the process of building and rebuilding Guinea capabilities and capacity, while also ensuring the best sustainable services and programs available. The HHF is committed to providing and enhancing efforts to assist in the following areas:

• Provisioning of high end regional housing, hospitals, health and human services.

• Eradication of poverty, through job creation and education.

• Provisioning of quality trade, primary and secondary education.

• Provision infrastructure development in diverse communities, improve roads, provide rail and improved local transport.

• Develop outreach for available job opportunities, through international relationships i.e. African American universities, Chamber of Commerce and international businesses.

• Develop financing for local businesses and opportunities, develop financial platforms to expand programs.

• Develop and provide access to affordable clean energy sources, further develop international relationships with solar energy providers, wind powered energy and hydroelectric providers.

• Provide local business collaborating and on-going mentoring, partnering programs with international firms to facilitate knowledge and technology transfer.

• Create an environment for sustainable communities.

The HAIDARA Holding Foundation believes in local participation and the empowerment of all community sectors, while enabling each to become actively involved in their own local development.

The HAIDARA Holding Foundation will continue to generate Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) to sustain improved economic and social growth. We believe positive FDI; will completely impact health and human services, while increasing commerce and tax revenues in Guinea.

This formula provides a means to create sustainable economies within a country. As a secondary provider of FDI to, Guinea, we will jointly develop a plan to channel FDI investments into new infrastructure and other projects to boost development.

It is HHF’s plan to work with and manage our FDI channel, so funding will result in the transfer of soft human skills, to include: job training and job creation, as well as hard infrastructure development. Additionally, and because of HHF’s FDI, Guinea will have availability of advanced technology to enhance research and development various health and human services and infrastructure resources.

HHF believes, the effects of our investments on local firms, industries and sectors will robustly increase local productivity and sustain growth. HHF’s thoughtful “Vision” and program/project approach is “development-friendly” and can be viewed as the most effective and efficient means to assist developing economies and developing industries.
